Hospital malpractice may be related to time of surgery

Are there better times than others are as far as being scheduled for a hospital procedure in Kentucky is concerned? According to some studies, there may be better times to have surgery or deliver a child. Additionally, some months may be better than others to be hospitalized. Time of day may play an important role in avoiding hospital malpractice.

For example, popular belief is that most instances of hospital errors occur during July when medical school graduates begin their internships. Studies may be conflicting, as Johns Hopkins researched over 3,000 surgeries and determined that the ones performed in July tended to have more complications. However, other studies show no difference between errors made during July surgeries as opposed to procedures performed during any other month.

However, the calendar does appear to make a difference, particularly when it comes to being admitted to the hospital or having a procedure done. Evidence supports the fact that people who visit the emergence room during public holidays are more likely to pass within a week, as opposed to those individuals admitted during non-holidays with similar conditions. Time of day may matter as well as the time of the week. Doctors tend to perform more C‑sections on Friday than on any other day of the week.

Medical malpractice is unfortunate, and it can destroy the lives of families in an instant. Many people may feel afraid to confront a hospital for negligence; however, hospital mistakes such as emergency room errors and anesthesia mistakes can cause permanent injury or even death. A knowledgeable and experienced medical malpractice attorney in Kentucky may be able to help those who believe they may have a case due to physician or doctor's errors.
